ORS, glucose must in all health centres: KMC in its heat safety advisory

The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has issued an advisory to its employees in light of the rising temperatures.

Advisory directs employees to ensure that Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) and glucose are available at all health centers to combat dehydration. Additionally, personnel are urged to wear goggles and use umbrellas to shield themselves from direct sunlight while working outdoors.

To minimize the risk of heat exhaustion or heatstroke, employees are advised to avoid unnecessary heat exposure during the hottest parts of the day. The advisory also instructs cleaning staff to complete their work in the early morning hours to reduce exposure to extreme heat.

Furthermore, employees are reminded not to take on unnecessary mental pressure.
